Offices

In today's market place the office class of business tends to be written almost exclusively on a Businessowners (BOP) product.  NSIC currently does not have a BOP product filed, therefore our writings in this class tend to be on office classes that are not eligible for a BOP.

Why are these offices not eligible for a BOP? Usually the office has a Professional Liability, Personal Injury or Products/Completed Operations exposure that the BOP product can not exclude.

Under a Commercial Package Policy (CPP), NSIC can design a policy, by the use of exclusions, that basically provides coverage for "trip and fall" exposures.  This limited policy, in many cases, is exactly what the customer is looking for to satisfy their landlord's requirements when they lease office space.  It is critical that the broker fully advise their customer what coverages are excluded, when this approach is taken.

NSIC is willing to consider writing offices, with the proper exclusions, assuming our minimum premium guidelines are met.
